14/365 Lockers

Tried movement again today. Sadly, my camera battery was running really low so I didnt get to play as much as I would have liked. I must say that I am really enjoying this project, and the projects I link to on the right side of the blog. It's so fun to see everyones photos, read the comments, and interact with y'all.

13/365: Mossy Boots

I managed to take a few pictures today (my shoes out to eat with me, at work etc), but I didn't really like them.  I'm not super jazzed about today's final photo either, but it was a good excuse to mess around with editing (sadly, that bright green couldn't be fixed and look anywhere near natural without going black and white).  This picture was taken on the walk up to my front door, it was dark out and thus the green moss is BRIGHT because of the flash.

12/365: New Shoes

That money that was ripping a hole in my pocket? Consider it spent.  This afternoon I found not one but three pairs of shoes that I couldn't live without. I can't wait to reveal them here, but I'll have to wear them first(you can at least get a taste from the boxes)! Today I was lazy and wore slippers all day.

11/365: Color Palette

I taught one of my favorite creative writing lessons today.  It involves a huge number of paint chips, and needless to say, there was a short period of time where they were all over the floor of my classroom, total chaos and a perfect photo op.

Shoes: Pony (had them a few years, and can't find a link to them anywhere online)

10/365: The Real Dorothy

In the book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Dorothy gains a pair of silver shoes to transport home. These shoes, originally owned by the Wicked Witch of the East became Dorothy's when a house landed on the witch.  In the 1939 movie however, the shoes were portrayed as ruby red, not silver. As you can see in my header, I have a ruby red pair, and as you can see by today's picture, I also have a silver pair.

There's no place like home...or grocery store parking lots (which is where this picture was taken).

9/365: Jump on It

Today I wore lazy clothes and shoes...it wasn't a lazy day (sadly), but my attire was that of someone that is either working out or hanging out. For my picture I wanted to try something different, I thought of a motion shot on the treadmill first. This was hard. I set the camera up on a timer to take the picture and did a few and they were just not right.  I decided to take my quest outside and just jump up and down. With limited light the flash makes the pictures look a little surreal, they aren't natural, light-wise.  I started with a side jump and then turned.  I took probably 20 blurry jumping pictures(see picture #1) before I got the one that looks like I'm levitating (picture #2).

8/365: Shoe Shopping

One of my favorite ways to spend a cold Saturday is shopping for shoes. Nordstrom is a favorite place to get and shop for shoes. Today I went with the some saved money and the intent of buying, alas when you have the money you can never find the shoes. So I'll have to trick myself into thinking I have zero to spend and then I will find the ones I want! That's basic shoe shopping law.  All the shoes I tried on were lovely, but I just didn't see a pair that I had to have.  The one pair I would have loved was not practical for teaching, and I have no idea where I would ever wear them. They were so silly that I didn't even try them on, and darn it, I didn't take a picture either but you can see them here.
